Our church sponsors a visit to a local Okinawan orphanage each year. Our trip there is one of our Christmas traditions now. The Leggio family has been joining us, too! We bring gifts (specific gifts requested by specific kids) play with the kids, and eat a holiday feast provided by one of the base clubs. The kids are delighted by all of the commotion and we have so much fun watching them devour candy and open gifts! The kids love playing with Timmy with all of his silly antics and my lap is always available for cuddles and hugs.
After the orphange we continued down south to eat at our favorite Thai restaraunt with the spectacular ocean view and walking paths. I was so happy to see so many Shisas adorning the traditional tile roofs in the neighboring towns. I took many pictures -poor Christa and kids had to deal with me shouting, "Look! Another Shisa! Stop the car!" Anyway, I used to the pictures to make note cards for Christmas gifts for my Okinawa friends so maybe the stops were worth it?
This day was a great way to start the blessed Christmas season!

I really enjoyed the day at the Orphanage ... just wish we could've stayed longer to play with the kids.
I would like to know where that Thai place is ... sounds yummy!
