Torrii Beach Sunset and Flowers of course...

The day after Thanksgiving we drove around with the camera looking for some shisas to capture but God had other plans and blessed us with another lovely Okinawan sunset.

Saturday Morning Walk

I woke up early Saturday morning and dragged the kids and Zori on a morning walk/bike ride. I brought the camera along just in case. What a pleasant surprise to capture a red tractor in the nearby fields. We walked to Zakimi castle ruins (15 min. through cane fields and farm fields) The kids had fun riding through the countryside and Kyan even dressed up as SpiderBoy for the occasion.

I almost felt I was in America. The sugar cane tops reminded me of white pines, the red tractor is so "Americana", the pinecones were abundant and reminded me of New England forests.

Okuma To and Fro

We drove up north to Okuma ( a military resort) to celebrate a friend's birthday last weekend. We definitely enjoyed the socializing but the landscapes, flora, and fauna of Okinawa really caught my eye on our way there and back. Tim, the driver, stopped the car numerous times to appease me! We ended up at a small coffee farm on the side of the road. A true eclectic spot. They even had a pet free-range chicken namedCoCo greeting the customers. Unforgettable! When people ask why we have lived overseas for so long, expriences like this come to mind!

November FunChecking

I have been thinking about the most efficient way to keep in touch with family and friends and I am hoping that blogging is the answer. I will be downloading lots of pictures so be prepared!

I have dabbled in photography many times in my adult life and the photo-bug has bitten me once more. Tim encouraged me to buy a new fancy camera this summer and voila...I am enthralled with this art form again. I find myself drawn to landscapes, animals, flowers, and the microscopic world my zoom lense has opened up to me.

God is the true artist, I am only a recorder of HIS masterpiece....

Enjoy!
